Adult Beverages & Naughty or Nice

Beer is one of the world’s oldest human-produced beverages, possibly dating back to at least the 7th millennium BC. It is produced through fermentation of starch based material such as the commonly used grain, barley. In Europe, beer was being produced by or for monasteries as early as the 7th century. By the 14th century, beer had achieved great popularity because drinking beer was safer than drinking water. The first regulation of beer appeared in Augsburg, Germany; the best known and most famous brewing law, the Reinheitsgebot; the “Purity Law” was introduced in 1516. This is the oldest food regulation in the world and still exists today. It stated that beer should only be brewed from barley, hops and water. Bavarian beers then became leaders; their guarantee that in Germany only good healthy beer will be brewed. Prost!
