The Church of Saint Paul in Schierling
With the assistance of many contributions from American and German interests, the Pauluskirche was built in 1954 in the little town of Schierling in southern Bavaria. The bell tower of the Chruch of Saint Paul was formally open to allow parishioners to view the three beautiful bells within. Although the tower is now closed in with wooden windows, the bells still ring out in celebration of peace and love. The third piece in this series of ornaments that document this unique American initiative, the Wooden Church Crusade, built up along the border to East Germany as a spirtual defense against Communism. Limited Edition - 2004 3rd in the Wooden Church Crusade Series

Mouth blown and hand painted by Inge Glas in Neustadt bei Coburg, this ornament is approximately 3 3/4" tall.
